The 5 Second Rule, Mel Robbins

I wish this book was around 20 years ago, but it wasn't, so am thankful it's here now.

While listening, I found myself reflecting on the moments in my life where I have asked the question "what if". This book teaches you how, and encourages you, to act on those moments so you don't have to ask yourself "what if".

Ultimately, the decisions I've made along the way have gotten me to where I am today, and I have a lot to be thankful for, so I will not dwell on those moments in the past where I didn't act.

I've decided I'm not going to have any more "what if" moments in my life. Now, after reading this book, if I have an instinct to act, to do something, I will now count backward (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) and then act.

It's a very empowering declaration to be 42 and know that I will create my destiny going forward.

**I listened to the book on audible and would highly recommend it. The author narrates the book; I felt like she was in the car with me in a therapy session on how to take control of my life.**
